The current responsibilities of the EuroHPC Hosting Entities include the provision of support services to users selected by EuroHPC to access the systems. To date, these services are limited primarily to Level 1 support which mostly entails a help desk support for day-by-day operational issues and problems.
The EPICURE project aims to improve the offering of user support. By establishing and operating an European-wide HPC application support service, the project encourages the best possible uptake of the EuroHPC systems by European scientists, researchers and industry.
EPICURE provides a distributed network of Application Support Teams (ASTs) for Level 2 and Level 3 support encompassing in particular application porting, optimisation and execution of key applications to the projects which have been allocated a EuroHPC JU project.
In addition, the project has developed a single point of contact (in the form of the European HPC Application Support portal) that allows European HPC users from public and private sector including SMEs, to retrieve information on the systems offered by the EuroHPC JU, their architectures, and the support services available. In the European HPC Application Support Portal EPICURE also has a curated and growing Knowledge base with materials designed to support researchers, developers and HPC practitioners.
EPICURE organises free and specialised training events, such as webinars, workshops, and hackathons to enhance expertise in the European-wide HPC community.
